Scholarship Prep was well represented at the Freckle Summer Summit, held on July 13th and 14th in San Francisco.  In order to most effectively implement Freckle, an online curriculum tool used by teachers in all grades at Scholarship Prep, four staff members attending the two-day training. Dennise Allotey (Administrator in Residence) and Claire Hoose (seventh grade teacher) represented the Santa Ana campus while Valerie Douglass (Principal) and Melody Rodriguez (fifth grade teacher) attending on behalf of Oceanside.  “The training was super informative, and gave great insight and examples of how to meet every student’s individualized needs,” said Claire Hoose.

In addition to attending the Summit, Mrs. Rodriguez presented at the Summit. “What I especially loved about this particular conference was that we were given the opportunity to collaborate with teachers and administrators from all over the country,” she shared. “Being able to share ideas and teaching strategies with a large group of passionate educators is an experience I will carry with me throughout my career.”  We are thankful to the team for attending the training during summer vacation and look forward to them leading staff development on Freckle to improve student learning.
