Hello Wildcats!

This week Scholarship Prep held semester awards for all grades!  Scholars were honored for attendance, citizenship, homework, and academic achievement.  The 7th and 8th grade teachers were honored to present these awards to so many middle schoolers!  Congratulations to all recipients, you've worked hard!

Hello Wildcat families!

Yesterday, as you all know, we visited the District Attorney's office and Juvenile Justice Center in Orange.  We met with District Attorney Kelly Lee, who taught us about the legal system and the ins and outs of becoming and working as a lawyer.  We also had the opportunity to learn about and explore the Justice Center with Officers Sosa and Ornelas, and participated in a mock trial with Judge Lewis Clapp. We were so excited to have been afforded this opportunity, and I wanted to share some photos with you!  Please ask your child to tell you about his/her experience!

Ayer, como todos saben, visitamos la oficina del Fiscal de Distrito y el Centro de Justicia Juvenil en Orange. Nos reunimos con la fiscal de distrito Kelly Lee, quien nos enseñó sobre el sistema legal y los entresijos de convertirse y trabajar como abogado. También tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer y explorar el Centro de Justicia con los oficiales Sosa y Ornelas, y participamos en un simulacro de juicio con el juez Lewis Clapp. Estábamos tan emocionados de haber tenido esta oportunidad, ¡y quería compartir algunas fotos con ustedes! ¡Por favor, pídale a su hijo que le cuente sobre su experiencia!

Good afternoon Wildcats and families!

Today the 8th graders went on a walking field trip to visit our neighbors: the Bowers Museum!  The visit started with a printmaking activity at the Kidseum in which we were able to learn more about the type of art created by Mexican artist, Rufino Tamayao.  Next, students explored the museum and participated in a tour of the gallery where we had the opportunity to see some of Tamayo's breathtaking works. I was impressed with our Wildcats, as they shared ideas about color, line and themes in these pieces. Studying Tamayo's techniques and process for creating these works, some larger than life, was fascinating!  Ask your scholars to tell you a little bit about the artwork we saw, and the prints they created!

Hoy, los alumnos de octavo grado hicieron una excursión a pie para visitar a nuestros vecinos: ¡el Museo Bowers! La visita comenzó con una actividad de grabado en el Kidseum en la que pudimos aprender más sobre el tipo de arte creado por el artista mexicano, Rufino Tamayao. Luego, los estudiantes exploraron el museo y participaron en un recorrido por la galería donde tuvimos la oportunidad de ver algunas de las impresionantes obras de Tamayo. Me impresionaron nuestros Wildcats, ya que compartían ideas sobre el color, la línea y los temas en estas piezas. ¡Estudiar las técnicas y el proceso de Tamayo para crear estas obras, algunas más grandes que la vida, fue fascinante! ¡Pídale a sus alumnos que le cuenten un poco sobre la obra de arte que vimos y las impresiones que crearon!

Hello wildcats and families,
Last month the pyramid success traits that we were focusing on were hard work and enthusiasm.  At today's pep rally Villanova's own Brian L. and Dylan were honored alongside fellow 8th graders Mellenie and Brigdet.  Congratulations you four, and keep up the good work!  This month we will be focusing on friendship and loyalty!

En el mitin de hoy, los propios Brian L. y Dylan de Villanova fueron honrados junto a sus compañeros Mellenie y Brigdet de octavo grado. ¡Felicidades a los cuatro y sigan con el buen trabajo! ¡Este mes nos centraremos en la amistad y la lealtad!

I wanted to share how spirited Villanova was on the first Friday that we had our university shirts! Let's try to wear our Villanova tees every Friday so we can show our team spirit on campus and at the pep rallies!
