Literature Festival
Posted on October 31, 2019
Happy Halloween! We had an exciting day today! We started the day off with our literature festival. Thank you to our 7th and 8th graders for guiding us through the fun games, dances, and activities. We headed back into our classroom and made our Pumpkin predictions. Our scholars predicted how many seeds were in our pumpkin. We counted the seeds, by tens, and discovered our pumpkin had 564 seeds! Emma and the closest prediction, with 700.
Santa Ana Public Library
Posted on October 29, 2019
We had a great time on our first field trip to the Santa Ana Public Library today! As we are ending our literature unit on how children around the world get books, we walked to our local library. It was a great day for a walk, and our scholars loved being out in their community. They learned about the numerous programs our local library offers such as homework help, book programs, and how to get a library card. We also received a tour around the library. What a great experience for our scholars! Thank you to all our wonderful parent volunteers that joined us today. We appreciate you!

Will my shadow change?
Posted on October 1, 2019
Our Stanford scholars made predictions about their shadows changing throughout the day. To investigate this, we went outside to observe how shadows are different throughout the day. We traced our shadows to see if our shadows would change at 8:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Our scholars were excited to learn that our shadows change in both position and length throughout our school day.

Awards
Posted on May 31, 2019
This week was full of celebrating our scholars' accomplishments this year. We stared with our Award ceremony, where scholars received awards for their academics, citizenship, and homework. We continued the week with celebrating our Pyramid of Success Award Winners. We celebrated Aiden for receiving Confidence and Tyler for receiving Personal Best award. Lastly, we celebrated our scholars who earned 100% on ST Math. I am so proud of all our Stanford scholars. I can't wait to see their accomplishments in second grade! Go Stanford!

Author's Club
Posted on May 3, 2019
Our 4th grade scholars have been working weekly with our 1st grade scholars to create their own stories. Our 4th grade scholars were so eager to help the younger scholars organize their storyboard and create their books. This week our scholars completed their books and were so eager to read their story aloud to their classmates. It truly brought out a love for writing in our classroom.
